The Personal Car Key Voice Recorder (AR-300) slides onto your keychain and records with a single button. An LED shows when it is recording, and one charge gives up to 7 hours of recording, enough for a full day of meetings. The 4 GB memory holds up to 18 hours of audio before you need to empty it.

Who it suits
People who want a recorder they will actually have with them. Keys go everywhere, so the AR-300 is there when an unexpected conversation needs recording: a dispute with a contractor, a landlord inspection, or a meeting where you want an accurate record of what was agreed.
Tips
- The battery (7 hours) runs out before the memory (18 hours), so charge it each night if you use it daily.
- Place the keys on the table between you and the other person rather than leaving them in a pocket.
- For voice activation, a vibration alert and professional use, see the Key Fob Style Voice Recorder (DR100).
Recording law, in plain terms
Arizona is a one-party consent state (A.R.S. § 13-3005): you may record a conversation you are part of, or one where a participant has agreed. Federal law follows the same rule. Several states require every party to agree, including California, Florida, Washington, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Massachusetts, and a call between two states can bring the stricter rule into play. Recording a conversation you are not part of, without consent, is a crime almost everywhere. This is general information, not legal advice; if a recording may end up in court, speak to an attorney first.
If the recording may become evidence
Copy the original file off the device as soon as you can, keep that first copy untouched, and work only from duplicates. Note the date, time and place of the recording and who had the device. Do not edit, trim or convert the original. If a recording matters to a case, our digital forensics team can preserve it with a documented chain of custody.
