Why the firm is built this way

Most security problems do not stay inside one discipline. A theft at a distribution centre starts as a guarding question and becomes an investigation, then a forensics question when it turns out the paperwork was generated on somebody's laptop. A threat against an executive starts as a protection question and becomes an intelligence and digital-exposure question within a day. A breach starts in IT and ends in a decision about notification that only a forensic answer can support.

The ordinary way to handle that is to hire three firms and hope they talk to each other. In practice they do not. Each holds a piece of the picture, each protects its own scope, and the client ends up as the integrator — reconciling three narratives, three invoices and three sets of assumptions, usually during the worst week of the year. Meanwhile evidence sits unhandled in the interval between one vendor's scope ending and the next one's beginning, and that interval is where cases are lost.

Honeybadger Solutions is built to remove the interval. Guarding, executive protection, investigations, digital forensics and cyber operate under one company, one contract and one point of accountability. When a matter crosses a boundary, it crosses inside the firm, and the chain of custody, the case file and the person answering the phone do not change.

Licensing and standing

Arizona regulates both halves of this work, and the licences are not interchangeable. We hold a Security Guard Agency licence, 1759798, and a Private Investigations Agency licence, 1759795, both issued and regulated by the Arizona Department of Public Safety under Title 32 of the Arizona Revised Statutes. Guards are licensed individually, armed officers carry the additional armed endorsement, and investigators work under the agency licence and its qualifying party.

It is worth stating what those licences do not confer, because the assumption runs the other way. Our people are not peace officers. They have no arrest authority beyond that of any private citizen, no power to detain, no authority to search, no subpoena power, and no access to law-enforcement databases. Any firm that implies otherwise is selling you an exposure. Everything on this site is written from inside those limits, and where a client asks for something outside them, the answer is no with an explanation rather than a quiet workaround.

How we operate

The survey comes before the proposal. We do not quote a guard post from a phone call or an investigation from a summary. Someone walks the site or reads the file first, because a proposal written without that is a guess with a price on it.

Post orders are written per site. Not per client, and never from a template with the name changed. The layout, the alarm points, the doors people actually use, the hours the risk is real — those are the job, and they differ from one building to the next on the same street.

Reports are written to be read by a stranger. The audience for an incident report is not the supervisor who already knows the site. It is an insurer, an examiner, a lawyer, or a jury, two years later. Our logs and reports are written for that reader from the outset, because the version written for convenience cannot be retrofitted.

Evidence is handled as evidence from the first hour. Hashes, write-blocking, custody logs, originals left untouched. Not because every matter goes to court, but because you cannot tell which ones will until it is too late to go back and do it properly.

Findings are separated from confidence. An analytic product that mixes what is known with what is inferred is worse than no product. We state which is which, and we state what would change our assessment.

We tell clients what we cannot do. Every service page on this site carries a section on the work we decline. That is deliberate. The limits are the most useful thing a client can know before signing, and the firms that hide them are the ones whose limits you discover during an incident.

Coverage

Guard and protection posts in Arizona are staffed by our own licensed employees, under our supervision, on our post orders. Beyond Arizona, we deliver physical coverage through a vetted managed network operating under Honeybadger's command and accountability — which means one contract, one supervisor, and one firm answerable to you, rather than a referral and a handshake. We say it that way because the distinction matters and because the industry routinely blurs it.

Investigations, digital forensics, intelligence and cyber work are nationwide and in-house. Those disciplines are not constrained by geography in the way a staffed post is, and jurisdictional questions — where a licence is required for investigative work in another state, where evidence must be collected in place — are handled explicitly, matter by matter, before work begins.

Law firms, for investigative and forensic work that has to hold up under examination. Insurers and their counsel. Small and mid-sized businesses that have discovered, usually through a contract or an insurance application, that their security posture is now somebody else's business. And private clients — individuals and families with a protection, privacy, or exposure problem that they would prefer not to explain more than once.

We also run a counter-surveillance and equipment store, which exists because clients kept asking what to buy after a sweep or a consultation, and because the honest answer is usually narrower and cheaper than what the internet sells them.

Working with us

The first conversation is a consultation, and it is genuinely a conversation rather than a sales call — the useful outcome is often that a client needs less than they thought, or something different from what they asked for. From there, scope and price go in writing before anyone starts, including what is out of scope, because that is the term that prevents an argument later.

Confidentiality is assumed and contracted. We do not name clients, publish case details, or use client imagery without written permission, which is why this site argues from method rather than from a wall of logos.
