Our certified instructor conducts 8 hours of firearms training on the third day of this course as part of the renewal of Arizona Department of Public Safety Armed Security Guard Certification.
Defending yourself or a loved one may require a specific fighting skill. We provide you with the tools and techniques you need to win a tactical encounter during our two-day Tactical Handgun Course. As most violent encounters occur in the dark, this course teaches basic night shooting techniques as well.
Equipment needed (Firearm, Ammunition, and Holster):
In addition to being fully functional, the weapon must also be intact with all factory-installed safety devices and free of dangerous modifications (such as a “hair” trigger less than 4 pounds (for Double Action (DA) pistols, this refers to the initial trigger press when the pistol is de-cocked), removed trigger guard, etc.)
The holster must fit the gun correctly, cover the trigger guard completely, remain open when the weapon is removed, and not have a trigger guard retention device (such as the Blackhawk Serpa model and others). Thigh rigs, cross-draws, etc., are not allowed.
It is recommended to have at least three magazines and two single or double pouches. A magazine pouch is worn on the belt opposite the handgun. Holders for speed loaders are worn in front of the holster.
In addition to iron sights, optics will also be covered in the class, offset at various distances.
Techniques will be developed and imprinted under pressure with a strong emphasis.
Exercises will include conventional and unconventional shooting positions at various distances, the use of cover, shooting on the move, and multiple target transitions.
Besides discussing accessories and care, we will also discuss maintenance and care.
Handguns with holsters and magazine holders will be needed for this class, as well as belts or chest rigs with magazine holders.
You will need a one-point or two-point sling. Students are recommended to bring knee and elbow pads, as well as suitable shoes."
Ammunition for rifles and pistols is provided by students in the amount of 500 rounds and 100 rounds.

Students will be equipped with the knowledge and practice to administer care, which could potentially make the difference between life and death.

Our exercises combine practical exercises and simulation learning to ensure that students have the knowledge and experience to understand the kind of care a casualty requires to administer procedures and treatments to save lives. Students train fellow students to reenact scenes and scenarios they may encounter. This gives them the confidence, knowledge, and understanding of life saving procedures. The words to live by, "practice makes perfect". This will help develop proficiency in providing trauma care and triage for real-life incidents. Our TCCC course is led by former military personnel.
This course covers all the necessary skill sets and written materials the attendee needs to complete the course evaluation and final examination. The attendee will become certified in OC Spray, Taser, and ASP Baton upon successful completion.
