SG Xtreme Life Wall Clock

A wall clock is the highest-mounted covert housing we sell, and that single fact decides what it is good for. Hung at normal clock height it looks down and across the whole room — the widest coverage of any unit here, and the hardest to block, because furniture and people standing in the way sit below the lens. Battery-powered over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, so it goes on any wall with no cable to explain.

Wide coverage, small faces — that is the trade

Height buys you area and costs you identification. From a wall you see who came in, where they went and what they touched; but every face is small and viewed from above, which is the worst angle for recognising anyone. If the question is what happened in this room, mount high. If the question is who was it, you want a camera at seated eye level and much closer — the SG Alarm Clock is the same system in that position. No amount of resolution rescues a face recorded small, from above, at distance.

Pick the right wall

A clock hung opposite a window spends every sunny afternoon shooting into backlight, and anyone standing between the lens and the glass records as a silhouette. Choose the wall with the light behind the camera. Second consideration: a wall clock is one of the few housings people reach up and touch — to change the time, to dust it, to straighten it — so re-check its aim occasionally rather than assuming it has held.

Battery planning

Runtime depends on traffic, not on the spec sheet. A clock watching a busy hallway triggers constantly and drains fast; one watching a rarely used room can run for months. Estimate from how often the scene actually moves, and buy a second battery if the placement is one you would rather not revisit. Recording is to a card up to 64 GB, which keeps footage local and independent of any subscription.

More hidden cameras — the category page covers 2.4 GHz setup, wake latency, storage and the legal position on placement in full. Ask us if you would rather have the placement planned than guessed.
