The low-band antenna for sweep work
Covering 80 to 4000 MHz, this omni-directional antenna improves sensitivity across the range, with the biggest gain between 80 and 700 MHz — the VHF and UHF bands plus the 315 and 433 MHz ISM bands where analog transmitters, older room bugs and many remote devices operate.
The Omni antenna will improve the sensitivity and detecting distance in the entire range (80-4000 MHz) but the most significant increase of performance will be observed within 80-700 MHz. Such improvement is particularly important when detecting or receiving signals operating on VHF, UHF and ISM 315 & 433 MHz bands.
- Frequency range 80-4000 MHz
- Tripod mountable (tripod supplied)
- The tripod can convert to a hand-held unit for manual probing (locating procedure)
- Connector type: BNC
- Mode of use: receive
How it is used
It mounts on the supplied tripod for a stationary watch of a room, and converts to handheld for the locating pass once you have a signal worth chasing. Connector type is BNC, receive only — check your detector before ordering.
Pair it with a high-band antenna
No single antenna covers the whole spectrum well. A complete sweep runs the low band with an omni like this one, then repeats above 2 GHz with a microwave antenna for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, LTE and wireless cameras. Running only one of the two leaves a predictable hole.
When to call instead of buy
Buying detection gear makes sense if you sweep regularly and know the procedure. If you think you are being monitored right now, a partial sweep can tip off whoever placed the device. Let a licensed team handle it.
