Usage with a bug detector
The MWA‐12 will increase detection distance of signals above 2GHz when used with a near‐field RF detector (also known as RF detector or bug detector). The reception will be improved for such signals as 3G, upper band 4G/LTE, WiFi 2.4GHz, Bluetooth, WiFi 5GHz, wireless cameras, etc. The RF device must have the SMA female connector. Otherwise the adapter should be used. Since the efficient range starts from 2 GHz, the signals with lower frequency will be omitted. Therefore repeat sweeping procedure with the standard antenna supplied with a near‐filed RF detector.
