Getting footage worth having
Charge it fully; battery life runs to about three and a half hours, and covert devices are almost always recovered with less recording than the owner expected. Set the date and time before first use — footage without a reliable timestamp is far weaker evidence. Test the framing at the height and angle you intend to use, because a phone lying flat on a table sees the ceiling.

If it becomes evidence
Stop using the device, copy the files, and work only from the copy. Write down who placed it, when, where, and who has handled it since.
