The value of an unarmed officer is presence and attention. A visible, professional uniform changes behavior: opportunistic theft, loitering and low-level disruption drop sharply when someone is clearly watching. Most of what we prevent never becomes an incident at all — which is exactly the point.
Our officers are licensed under Arizona’s private security guard law (ARS Title 32), uniformed, and trained in de-escalation — the skill of reading a situation and talking it down rather than letting it grow. They control access, observe and report, and know when a matter belongs to law enforcement. When something does happen, you get detailed patrol logs and incident reports documenting what occurred, when, and what was done — the kind of record that matters for insurance, HR, or a later claim.

What clients ask before they staff a post
Unarmed vs armed — which do I need?
For most sites, unarmed is the right fit. When the goal is deterrence, access control, reception, and documented observation — lobbies, retail, residential, most patrol work — a visible uniformed presence handles it, at a lower cost and with fewer liability considerations than armed coverage. Armed officers make sense where the specific threat profile calls for it. If you’re not sure, tell us the property and the concern and we’ll give you a straight recommendation, not an upsell.
Are your officers licensed and insured?
Yes. Our guards are licensed under the applicable state private-security law, background-checked, and our services are carried under commercial insurance. We can provide licensing and insurance documentation as part of setting up your coverage.
Can you scale up for events or busy periods?
Yes. Coverage is built around your actual need, and it can flex. A single standing post can scale to a full team for a grand opening, a special event, a construction phase, or any window of elevated risk — then scale back down. We plan surges in advance so posts stay covered throughout.
What reporting do we get?
Every shift produces a record. Patrols log their checkpoints and rounds, and any incident — from a trespass to a medical call to a policy violation — is written up in a detailed report noting what happened, when, and what the officer did. That documentation is available to you and is built to stand up for insurance, HR, or legal purposes if it’s ever needed.
Setting up a post
How a new unarmed post goes from request to first shift
An officer who knows the property, the people and the rules performs very differently from one who was handed an address. Most of the value of a post is built before the first shift starts.
- Site walk. We look at entrances, sight lines, lighting, parking, blind spots and where people actually gather, then compare that with the concern that prompted the call.
- Written post orders. Duties, hours, patrol routes, who may enter, what to do with deliveries, how to handle a trespasser, and who to call for each type of problem are written down so every officer works to the same standard.
- Contacts and escalation. We agree on your after-hours contacts, when you want a call versus a report the next morning, and which situations go straight to 911.
- Officer familiarization. Assigned officers learn the site layout, key staff, alarm panels and emergency exits before working alone.
- Supervision and review. Supervisors check posts, and post orders are revised as the property changes or reports show a new pattern.

What an unarmed officer can and cannot do
Security officers are not police. Understanding the difference helps you write sensible expectations into a post and avoid asking an officer to do something that creates liability.
Act for the property owner
Officers enforce your rules on your property: asking people to leave, controlling who enters, and giving trespass warnings on your behalf when your post orders authorize it.
Observe and report
The core function. Officers document what they see and hand off to law enforcement when a matter moves beyond property rules.
Limited physical intervention
Hands-on action is a last resort and is narrowly limited by law. Post orders should favor distance, verbal de-escalation and calling police.
No police powers
Officers cannot search people or their belongings against their will, run records, or act outside the property they are assigned to.

Planning outdoor posts for heat and long nights
Gate posts, parking patrols and construction yards in Arizona put officers outside through extreme summer heat and long overnight hours. Planning for that keeps posts alert and staffed.
- Shade and cooling. A guard shack, canopy or air-conditioned vehicle at exposed posts, and access to water and a restroom, belong in the planning conversation.
- Patrol timing. Foot rounds on large properties can be scheduled toward cooler hours, with vehicle patrol covering the hottest part of the day.
- Relief coverage. Breaks are planned so a post is not left empty, either through a relief officer or a clear rule about which duties pause and for how long.

Unarmed coverage is usually priced by the hour, and the total depends on a handful of decisions you control.

Can we request the same officers each shift?
Consistent staffing is the goal because officers who know a property notice what is out of place. We build a regular roster for your site and train backups on the same post orders to cover time off.
What happens if an officer calls out sick?
Coverage gaps are handled by supervisors, who move a trained backup to the post. You are told if a change affects your site.
Can officers stop a shoplifter?
