That’s why we deploy our monitoring, response and testing remotely across all 50 states, with the same standards for a firm in Phoenix as for one in Boston or Seattle.
Where geography does matter is the law after a breach. Every state has its own data-breach notification statute, and they genuinely differ — on how fast you must notify affected residents, when you have to alert the state Attorney General, and what counts as protected data. Arizona requires notification within 45 days of determining a breach occurred; Texas sets the clock at 60 days; other states specify “without unreasonable delay” or trigger AG notification only above a resident-count threshold. Get the timeline or the recipient wrong and a manageable incident becomes a regulatory one.

How do you handle breach-notification requirements across states?
Data-breach notification laws are set state by state and differ on deadlines and Attorney General thresholds — Arizona requires notice within 45 days, Texas within 60, and others vary. During an incident we help you determine which states’ rules apply based on where your affected individuals reside, track those deadlines, and produce the documented timeline regulators and insurers expect. We support your compliance — your legal counsel makes the final notification decisions.
